All nature lovers needless to say are also pet lovers. All of our mountaineer friends have dogs at home, so we do. Years back we just allow our dogs to go roam everywhere so they set their own boundaries and of course the alpha males own the widest. However, when the local government imposed the city ordinance
that dogs found roaming at night will be considered stray dogs and will be brought to PAWS the organization that keeps stray dogs. The owner will then have to pay to get their dogs back.
Because of that all dog owners in the community ended up chaining dogs or fencing their vicinity to keep their dogs. Our place is so peaceful that I suppose fencing is not really necessary but we have no choice but to add wire fence, which actually damages the view but we have to, to keep the dogs. But dogs are dogs and they dig into the ground just to escape because they were used to having wide boundaries. The result? We keep on paying the ransom.
PAWS admin actually advised us to train our dogs to be used to limited boundaries. For us who does not feel like putting on wires around our places they promote the use of wireless electric fence for dogs and we were just as delighted to learn about these new technology. One of my friends, a K9 trainer said that he had been using this wireless fence for more than a year now. This was after they lost their beloved brown and white border collie. That dog was very precious to them as it has brought them so much joy. That dog has won three agility competitions. They scattered posters to give out rewards to anybody who can return the dog to them. Fortunately the dog was returned to them after three weeks. We believe the dog got lost during mating season. Anyhow, he said these invisible fence for dog is a big help to them in keeping their dogs safe.
